Sexual Predators Protected by Washington Dept. Of Health

Washington Department Of Health protects sex-offending physicians and chooses to prosecute legal and safe alternative healthcare.

The Washington Department of Health is prosecuting the practice of safe health care legally used by physicians and non-physicians. (Safe health care is protected as an unregulated profession under RCW 18.120.010.) At the same time DOH is protecting sex-offending physicians who prey on their patients!

A shocking report by the Seattle Times revealed the Washington State Medical "Quality" Assurance Commission's (WA DOH) curious inability to appropriately investigate and punish sex-offending physicians (licensed by WA DOH to practice medicine) while at the same time aggressively pursuing a holistic MD for demonstrating - but not using an alternative healing modality, charging him with moral turpitude (a charge later dropped), and finally suspending his license for five years.

The Washington State Department of Health is engaged in a massive sweep to take away the choice for alternative health care from the citizens it "serves." It is attacking and prosecuting all of the physicians, dentists, PhD's and, in fact, all of the medical and non medical practitioners who use safe alternative treatments for patients who freely request them.

This scheme was partially exposed when the Seattle Times revealed the Washington State Medical "Quality" Assurance Commission's (i.e. WA DOH) failure to investigate and punish sex offending physicians while at the same time aggressively pursuing a holistic MD, charging him with moral turpitude (a charge later dropped), and finally suspending his license for five years.

The scheme was exposed again, on this web site, when we revealed that the state was knowingly using biased, unqualified witnesses from special interest groups to pose as "expert" witnesses against its intended targets, namely, the holistic practitioners and against we, the people who need them.

Now Washington's Governor, Christine Gregoire, has signaled she will continue her pogrom of "cleansing" and refuses to investigate the special interest control of DOH. *(For more detailed information, see this letter)*

Here's how you can make sure Governor Gregoire applies the law & extricates any special interest group from influencing Washington's Department of Health: Does the State Own Your Body?

Washington State's War on Holistic MDs
Sexual Predators on The Loose

A shocking report by the Seattle Times revealed the Washington State Medical "Quality" Assurance Commission's curious inability to appropriately investigate and punish sex-offending physicians while at the same time aggressively pursuing a holistic MD for demonstrating-but not using-an electrodermal testing machine, charging him with moral turpitude (a charge later dropped), and finally suspending his license for five years.

In late April 2006, the Seattle Times published a series showing just how widespread this problem really is-and how unconcerned the Washington State Medical "Quality" Assurance Commission seems to be. The front page of one issue of the Sunday Times told the story of a doctor who had been allowed to keep his license even though he had been secretly taking pictures of female patients' genitalia.

And this was no isolated case. Between 1995 and 2005, 1,494 sexual misconduct complaints were filed against licensed health care professionals. Only 1,033 of the doctors were actually investigated, and over half (576) of the cases were dismissed-even though in many cases there was enough evidence to convict. I guess the state is letting them off on good faith, since their only explanation for dismissing the cases was that they thought a repeat offense would be unlikely. (Is that the modus operandi for drunk drivers and rapists? I sure hope not.)

Of the 457 cases that weren't dismissed, charges were filed against 399 licensed practitioners, (including 66 M.D.s). And of those 399, 202 practitioners had their licenses revoked. If you do the math, only 13.5 percent of licensed health care practitioners accused of sexual misconduct had their licenses taken away.

The Times detailed many other individual cases and wrote: "The State of Washington makes it easy for the abusers to get away with it again and again." For example, when one physician was accused of fondling women's breasts, he was ordered to attend a "refresher class" on how to conduct breast exams. (I wonder if the physician enjoyed his punishment?) Others were made to attend a medical ethics class, and some had to write an essay about their conduct.

Seems ironic to me that the commission would charge holistic doctors like Dr. Ames with moral turpitude while allowing the real sex offenders to go free. Dr. Ames had his license suspended for five years just for demonstrating (not even actually using) a harmless, usually effective, technique that isn't even slightly sexually related.

After reading the Seattle Times series, one of Dr. Ames patients' said, "It's no wonder the Medical Quality Assurance Commission has the time to persecute holistic physicians...they have all that time left over from ignoring sex offending doctors."
